Phew!

Finally got the call from the RE's office... I can cycle again and I did NOT get the wide eyed innocent nurse. I had to call them how irritating. Anyways...

So we'll cycle again once my period shows.

Dino D asked a question one of my irl friends asked - Do I always have beta hcg circulating through my body... well no. I've had betas done in the past (most specifically in the ectopic fiasco) and it's been 0 and 2 before. I also have had lower betas of 3 and 4 before. So I wish it was just me being a freak rather than me getting "this" close (imagine me holding my two fingers very close together... but apparently freak wins out. Queen of chemical pregnancies - wish that title came with free fertility meds and unlimited u/s. Alas it doesn't.

So - they'll get aggressive Sami rather than laid back one... ahh the horror!!! I haven't decided yet if the hpt's are going to go back in the proverbial closet or if we're just going to do a beta test... votes?

Off to work... running late... bad sami... bad sami...

You seem very resilient, and I'm glad that you're bouncing back and will be able to cycle again soon. As for the hpt or beta question, I think maybe the hpt is the way to go initially; in other words, only get a beta if you first get a hpt. That way, since hpts don't pick up hcg until it's at least around 20, you might not even know about a chemical pregnancy in which the hcg stayed below that number. My theory is that, with respect to chemical pregnancies, ignorance is bliss.

Not sure what to tell you in regards to the hpt's. Seems as though you've cornered the market on the world's most sensitive tests. Perhaps take the hpt and then do a beta based on how dark (and your educated guess of the hcg level) the line is. But then again, don't you always get two lines? ;)

Hope that I didn't contribute even more to your lateness yesterday. Thanks for the phone call. It was great to chat.

I know that in a way the 'chemical' (I hate that - I hated Chemistry, and I hate sounding so clinical, so let's call them 'super early') losses are easier to deal with (i.e. slightly fewer tears, more sighs), but the frustration is never diminished.

I'm so sorry. :-(

ps With my last pregnancy, I got a negative HPT and it was supposedly very sensitive. Only after my period still didn't come did I test, and by then it registered as positive but was on its way out. So I'm all for using less sensitive tests. Like Jill, I don't want to know.
